Camping Trip in Big Bear

So every year, my family goes on a camping trip at Big Bear Lake at Serrano Campgrounds. We always get the same site and everyone has their assigned items to bring. We pretty much luxury camp with our own bathroom, full kitchen, and massive tents with blow up beds. Typically it's a pretty relaxing weekend with doing a puzzle, reading, fishing, cooking, etc. This year, however, was Derek's first year camping! Not to say it was bad...it was just hard. He had trouble sleeping in the tent because it was so bright and not to mention he was totally stimulated from being outside all day long....oh and did I mention he started teething that week! It was quite the combo for not so relaxing of a trip. Derek seemed to like it most of the time. He got truly dirty for the first time and saw lots of new things. I'm glad we went, but wish it would have gone a little smoother. Maybe next year when he's older it will be easier. We'll see.

Here are some pictures of the boys fishing trip on the lake. They rented a pontoon boat and went out for a few hours. They did pretty good catching fish and had a ton of fun!

Gene got one too!

Good job Rick!
One morning at the campsite. Derek was eating breakfast.
Partying at night. We did a lot of this and had so much fun! We played a lot of Catch Phrase, drank alot and just had a blast! Here's Dad and Erica hamming it up for the camera.
Oh wait...this guys the real ham. Check this pick out...
Me and Mom partying with some friends that also came down to the site to party for the night.

Check out Derek's sweet set up. We're cleaning all his toys here because of course they got dirty out there.

My little man in his little camping chair. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa! I feel so cool sitting like all the grown ups.
